As more and more airlines publish sustainability commitments and ambitions, a New York-based company is hoping to reshape the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market with its new novel climate technology.
Air Company on Thursday (22nd Sep) revealed its latest innovation that will create SAF from captured carbon dioxide (CO2), stating that it has already caught the attention of global aviation firms including Virgin Atlantic, JetBlue and Supersonic.
Distributed under the name AIRMADE™ SAF, the technology will act as a stepping-stone in decarbonising aviation, one of the fast-growing growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions and cut fossil fuel dependency.
How does the company intend to do this? By using the same proprietary technology that mimics photosynthesis to create its consumer ethanol.
