Newly developed LNG-fuelled vessel to serve Hawaii

Hawaii has received what is believed to be its first LNG-powered vessel.

Designed and bult by Keppel O&M, the M/V George III vessel is the first of two LNG-fuelled containerships that is set to be delivered to Pasha Hawaii, a US-based shipping a logistics company.

Through the utilisation of LNG, the vessel’s environmental footprint and energy savings will be improved with a ‘state-of-the-art’ engine that features optimised hull form, an underwater propulsion system, and a high-efficiency rudder and propeller.

With this, the container is the first IFG compliant vessels certified by the US coast guard.
