As part of a joint venture, Nova Mirai Engineering, an Italian subsidiary of Chiyoda Corporation, Saipem and Daewoo Engineering and Construction have received a contract for the engineering and procurement of the Nigeria LNG Train 7 Project.
Valued at approximately $4bn, the contract awarded by Nigeria LNG follows the signature of a letter of intent announced in September last year.
The Nigeria Train 7 Project consists of the construction of one complete LNG train and one additional liquefaction unit with a total capacity of approximately eight million tonnes per annum (mtpa), plus other extensive associated utilities and infrastructure.
Stefano Cao, Saipem’s CEO, commented, “This new project in Nigeria – where we have been operating for over 50 years – confirms our ability to build solid relationships, qualifying Saipem as a global company.”
