Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries’ Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group has recommissioned an air separation unit (ASU) in Hyderabad, India, to meet the urgent demands for medical oxygen as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The Nikkiso subsidiary on Tuesday (27th July) confirmed the start-up of the plant, in response to a request from the Indian Government. The effort was carried out in coordination with the Telengana Government (TEL) and Greenko Foundation (GKO).
In order to facilitate the recommissioning, GKS has taken the old shut-own plant on a rental basis from Air Water India Private Limited (AWI) for a period of two years.
Playing its part in the effort, Nikkiso provided critical technical support and spare parts to support the start up. Supplied equipment included nozzle actuators and vibration components.
