Woodside Petroleum Ltd. has announced that liquefied natural gas (LNG) production at the North West Shelf joint venture has restarted following recent problems and while any disruptions to services may be experienced for a few days, customers can rest assured that this will have minimal effect in the long term.
Production of both natural gas and LNG was interrupted at the Karratha Gas Plant last week following an electrical fault, and domestic gas production resumed within a couple of days.
A spokeswoman for Woodside, which is the operator of the North West Shelf, said LNG production restarted on the 6th January and will be driven up to normal rates in the coming days.
LNG ship loading is expected to have resumed as of the week beginning 7th January and while assessments are continuing, Woodside noted that it expects there will be a deferral of some shipments and it is in discussions with customers to agree on a revised delivery schedule.
