Nottingham City Transport (NCT) is now operating the “world’s largest” number of double decker buses powered by gas.
To illustrate the effect the buses will have on the city, the British Compressed Gas Association (BCGA) has produced a video going behind the scenes of the new generation of buses powered by compressed biogas.
Back in 2017, NCT introduced 53 biogas buses to the city, with support from the first round of funding from the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). Additional biogas buses will soon be deployed in the city, taking the fleet total to 120.
With an individual driving range of up to 250 miles, the buses deliver an array of economic and environmental benefits including a reduction in exhaust emissions and savings in refuelling.
