Carbon capture operations have begun at NTPC’s 500MW (megawatt) coal-fired power plant (Unit-13) at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, in Madhya Pradesh, India.
Designed to capture 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per day, the plant was set up by decarbonisation specialist Carbon Clean and Green Power International Pvt. Ltd (GPI) after being selected by NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA).
Carbon Clean will use its CDRMax carbon capture technology to capture CO2 from the power plant’s flue gas.
