Parker Bestobell Marine, a manufacturer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) cryogenic valves, has completed a contract to supply cryogenic Globe and Check valves for Hoegh LNG’s series of five Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs).
Hoegh LNG owns and operates floating LNG import terminals worldwide, but these FSRUs are being built at the Hyundai shipyard in South Korea.
The valves, which were manufactured in Sheffield, are a combination of manual, pneumatic, actuated and check valves and come in sizes ranging from diametre nominal (DN) 15 to DN100.
Duncan Gaskin, Sales Director at Parker Bestobell Marine, commented, “Supplying cryogenic valves for FSRUs is a growing part of our business, as international markets recognise the greater speed of construction of an FSRU and cost savings from storing and distributing LNG in this way.”
