Over one million acres in Saskatchewan’s helium fairway now owned by Global Helium

Global Helium is now the sole owner of over one million acres of land in southern Saskatchewan, making the exploration company Canada’s second largest land holder of helium rights.

The company on Tuesday (12th Oct) boosted its land ownership in Saskatchewan’s famed “helium fairway”, home to the majority of Canada’s helium reserves and production, having completed its latest acreage acquisition.

As well as boasting the most reserves and production, the fairway is also where helium is tested and produced in concentrations of over 2% since the 1960’s.

Commenting on the milestone, Wes Siemens, President of Global Helium, said, “This additional helium-specific acreage represents a 50% increase to our previous land position, making Global the second largest acreage holder in the heart of Saskatchewan’s helium fairway.”
