Parker Bestobell Marine has secured a nine vessel order with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) worth $5m – its single biggest order to date.
The UK-based business has been contracted by DSME in South Korea to supply the remaining nine vessels in the Yamal series with its tried and tested cryogenic globe and check valves, having already been contracted to supply the first six vessels in the Arc7 ice-class series.
The vessels are part of a series of 15 LNG carriers being built for three different owners – Mitsui O.S.K Lines (Japan), Teekay (Canada) and Dynagas (Greece) – which are all destined for the Yamal gas field in Russian Siberia.
