Plans are emerging for a potential new Airgas facility in North Carolina, with the company understood to be reviewing its options in the state.
As part of a presentation to the Alamance County Board of Commissioners, Airgas discussed plans to build an air separation unit, large storage facilities and also a distribution terminal.
The company told the board it sees North Carolina as a growing market and it has no similar facilities in this state.
The county said it will offer Airgas a $470,000 economic development incentive if it does choose Mebane as its first North Carolina location to separate air into three component gases for sale.
