Praxair purchases medical and welding supply company Mittler Supply Inc of Indiana.
Mittler Supply Inc has been providing medical and welding gases to regional business for 61 years and operates from a state-of-the-art cylinder filling plant in South Bend Indiana. Mittler Supply has doubled in size over the past 10 years with sales in 2006 of $73 million.
Officials for Mittler said the deal should benefit the company and its existing 210 employees.
Dennis Hulth, president and chief executive of Mittler commented $quot;We think they will continue to run Mittler as a regional headquarters$quot;. Praxair’s Susan Szita Gore, director of corporate communications at Danbury, confirmed that Mittlers employees will continue to work within the business.
