Praxair China starts new plant in Jiangsu province

Praxair China has started up a new air separation plant in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, for Meishan Iron and Steel – which is a subsidiary of Baosteel Group.

This new air separation plant has a capacity of 1,700 tons per day and supplies oxygen, nitrogen and argon to support Meishan Steel’s growing demand as well as deliver added value in energy efficiency, product quality and process safety.

The plant’s liquid capacity also improves Praxair’s ability to reliably supply the region’s merchant liquid customers and will nearly double the existing oxygen production capacity serving Meishan Steel.

Praxair China has been supplying industrial gases to Meishan Steel for over a decade and has already built a number of air separation plants to supply this customer in Nanjing.
