A hearing on Praxair Distribution’s appeal for a business license in St. Louis was delayed on Thursday leaving the facility closed.
The company, which had a massive fire and explosion in June, is seeking to repair its facilities until it finds a new location. Praxair, plans to complete repair work on the facility in six to eight weeks after receiving a permit. It is currently appealing the city building commissioner’s denial of its request for a building permit.
According to the companys corporate communications vice president Nigel Muir the company is working closely with the local officials in order to build a new facility, which is expected to take at least 12-18 months.
