Praxair rejects a property offer

Praxair has rejected a property offered by the City of St. Louis, Missouri, US, as a possible alternative site for Praxair Distributions industrial and medical gases distribution facility.

The industrial gas giant had a massive fire and explosion in June last year and is seeking to repair its facilities until it finds a new location.

The company received a letter beginning of December from the office of the mayor offering a site in Hazelwood near Lambert International Airport.

‘Praxairs review of this site shows that this property and land surrounding it is contaminated with various materials related to the Manhattan Project and is on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys National Priority list for clean-up,’ said Wayne Yakich, president of Praxair Distribution.
