Following the purchase of Mills Welding & Speciality Gases in an undisclosed deal, Praxair has now announced the acquisition of Wilson Welding & Medical Gases.
Wilson is a distributor of industrial, medical and speciality gases, equipment and related supplies, operating a cylinder filling plant and retail store in Warren, retail stores in Macomb and Pontiac and a beverage CO2 business in Michigan. With 72 employees and generated sales of $20m last year, the business will now assimilate into Praxair Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc.
Praxair Distribution president Wayne Yakich commented, $quot;The addition of Wilson to our existing network in South Eastern Michigan further strengthens Praxair’s ability to serve customers throughout the Great Lakes region.$quot;
$quot;We will be integrating the Wilson employees and operations with Praxair Distribution’s 4,200 employees in North America,$quot; Yakich continued.
