Praxair to help fund hurricane relief efforts

The Praxair Foundation will make a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross as a contribution to relief efforts related to the devastating impact of Hurricane Katrina.

Dennis Reilley, Praxair’s chairman and CEO, said: The hurricane has caused extreme suffering to many people, including a number of our employees, in the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast area. In addition, we also have many customers and suppliers that have been hard hit.

We decided to make this donation to the American Red Cross since they are professionals in disaster relief and have the ability to disperse aid with great effectiveness.

Praxair is doing everything we can to get our operations up and running in the region and to assist our customers in their efforts to return to normal business activities. But we are looking at many weeks of effort.”
