The Chennai facility in India was opened in May 2011 and offers a manufacturing capacity of 300 cryogenic storage tanks per year, ranging from 6kl to 77kl. As an apt start to the 2012 calendar, plant efficiency was marked by the delivery of the 50th tank to launch customer, Air Liquide India.
Ravin Mirchandani, Managing Director of Cryolor Asia Pacific commented on the achievement, “Our objective was to manufacture cryogenic tanks in India that are indistinguishable from those manufactured by Cryolor in Europe. We have managed to maintain our quality levels as we progressively localise our raw materials. Our products are already deployed by customers in many countries in Asia and Middle East. The 50th tank is a major milestone for us and this cryogenic tank bears inside its outer shell the signatures of every CAP employee. We are proud to hand it over to Air Liquide India”.
