Qatargas, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter, has delivered the first Q-Max cargo of LNG under a sale and purchase agreement signed with the state-owned PTT.
The cargo arrived on board the Q-Max LNG vessel, Bu Samra, on 5th August. Q-Max vessels can carry up to 266,000 cubic metres of LNG and are 80% larger than their conventional LNG vessel counterparts.
This is the first Q-Max vessel to arrive at Map Ta Phut terminal since the start-up of the terminal in 2011, when Qatargas delivered the first commissioning cargo to Thailand’s first LNG receiving terminal.
Since then, Qatargas has supplied PTT with approximately nine million tons of LNG, delivering most of these cargoes via Q-Flex vessels.
