Retired Hobart Manager recognised for career achievements in the welding industry

A former Hobart Brothers Manager of Welding Engineering has been honoured by LeTourneau University in Texas, US.

Dean Phillips worked at the Illinois Tool Works subsidiary for 27 years before retiring in June 2016. A 1971 graduate of LeTourneau University, Phillips was among the 31 engineering alumni inducted into LeTourneau’s inaugural Academy of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

The academy is a hall of fame that recognises the career achievements and industry influence of outstanding alumni of LeTourneau’s School of Engineering and Engineering Technology. Induction into the academy honours alumni who achieved noteworthy professional accomplishments and became leaders in their respective disciplines and industries, according to a university statement.
