Gas Practitioners has finally been approved as a South African Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC).
According to the latest issue of Southern Africa Compressed Gases Association’s (SACGA) Gas Focus, the organisation received a letter from the Government’s Department of Labour, notifying it of the approval, which recognises it as an organisation to perform the registration function for gas practitioners.
The registration function involves Regulation 12(3) of the Vessels Under Pressure regulations, which form one of the regulations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
A not-for-profit company has been registered under the Companies Act and the organization can now begin to operate as a fully fledged entity.
