Scott achieves accreditation to manufacture reference calibration gases

Scott Speciality Gases’ European facility achieves ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to manufacture and sell reference calibration gases.

Scott’s manufacturing facility in Breda, Netherlands has passed an audit by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA). The accreditation certifies the facility as a “competent testing and calibration laboratory”. The facility, now known as Calibration Laboratory K064, will be permitted to manufacture and sell metrology level-2 reference materials, also known as Certified Reference Materials (CRMs).

CRMs are internationally recognised and are the equivalent of NIST-traceable Reference Standards (NTRMs). NTRMs are level-2 reference materials that are accredited by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Jack de Jong, Vice President of Scott’s Breda facility stated, “This represents a major achievement for our operation. As an ISO/IEC 17025 certified testing and calibration laboratory, we can now add CRMs to our product line for sale throughout the United Kingdom and Europe to customers with environmental monitoring, natural gas and automotive application needs. It also enhances our credibility in the marketplace as a leading world supplier of many types of calibration gases that provide guaranteed ±1% accuracy.”
