Scott Specialty Gases receive accreditation

Scott Specialty Gases manufacturing facility located in Breda, Netherlands, recently received accreditation by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).

The job of the facility is to manufacture multi-component natural gas BTU mixtures as well as calibration gas mixtures used for measuring vehicle exhaust emissions.

The accreditation received extends the scope of the initial ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation earned in 2005 that permits Scotts Breda facility, known as Calibration Laboratory K064, to manufacture and sell metrology level-2 Certified Reference Materials (CRMs).

When used to calibrate analyzers, Scotts accredited BTU mixtures are instrumental for precise determination of the caloric value of natural gas to within ±0.2%. Scotts accredited vehicle emission mixtures include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and propane in nitrogen and provide guaranteed ±1.0% analytical accuracy. The RvA accreditation applies to mixtures that are prepared on both an individual and a batch basis using Scotts Acublend® dynamic blending technology.
