Against a backdrop of renewed ambition for carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Scotland and the UK, scientists from Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS) and project partners will describe their innovative research as part of European climate action to All-Energy 2018 delegates in Glasgow tomorrow.
SCCS’s partner institutes are involved in five leading carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects currently being supported by the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and co-funded by the European Union, under the ERA-NET ACT initiative, to accelerate the delivery of the climate technology across Europe.

ALIGN-CCUS: Joanne Booth, of British Geological Survey (BGS), will speak about this multi-partner project to provide blueprints for transforming Europe’s industrial regions into economically robust, low-carbon centres by 2025.
