US Senator Cory Gardner, a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, has applauded the US Department of Energy’s effort to support ION Clean Energy’s carbon capture project with a $13m grant.
According to the Department of Energy, the project team will design, construct and operate an engineering-scale pilot system that will capture ten metric tonnes of carbon dioxide per day.
“I am grateful the Department of Energy continues to invest the energy emissions reduction research and technology in Colorado,” said Senator Gardner.
“The cutting-edge researched funded by the Department of Energy is instrumental in advancing our nation’s clean energy technology sector and has helped make the US a world leader in science and technology.”
