Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI) has released a new triple quadrupole gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS) that achieves the world’s highest sensitivity down to femtogram – parts per quadrillion – level.
The GCMS-TQ8050 detector offers an instrument detection limit of approximately 10 times more sensitive than Shimadzu’s current system, enabling detection of trace components.
The system includes a new turbomolecular pump and a high-efficiency collision cell, as well as featuring higher amplification levels and reduced noise levels.
