Siouxland Ethanol inks CO2 pipeline deal with Navigator

Heartland Greenway will provide carbon capture, transportation and storage services for Siouxland Ethanol as part of its carbon dioxide (CO2) pipeline project, which hopes to eventually capture and sequester 15 million metric tonnes of CO2 annually in Midwest US.

The duo today (23rd March) inked an agreement for the effort that will see Navigator capture, transport and store up to 235,000 metric tonnes of Siouxland’s CO2 per year. Based in Jackson, Siouxland is an ethanol plant operator.

Siouxland is just one of many industrial processing plants in the Midwest that Navigator hopes to partner with as it looks to encourage a more sustainable approach to businesses and aid in the reduction of carbon footprints through Heartland Greenway and its related carbon handling offerings.

Matt Vining, CEO of Navigator, said, “As one of the best-in-class ethanol biorefining operators, we are excited to be working with Siouxland on a comprehensive carbon handling solution.”
