On April 20, Spiritus Consulting presented the first of a series of three seminars on the HyCO (hydrogen & carbon monoxide) business held in London.
Dr Keith Guy gave a presentation on the market drivers and key sectors in the HyCO business. The seminar was well attended by representatives from, amongst others, Air Liquide, BOC, Yara, Foster Wheeler, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse First Boston, Merrill Lynch and ING.
Over the next five years industrial gas companies will be investing more than $2bn on behalf of oil and chemical companies primarily to meet environmental legislation requirements. These investments in HyCO will be critical for the financial performance of the industrial gas companies and their customers over the next 20 years.
