Storegga, Shell and Harbour Energy equal partners of leading CCS and hydrogen project

Storegga, Shell and Harbour Energy are all now equal partners in one of the UK’s most mature carbon capture and hydrogen developments, the Acorn Project.

Located in Scotland, the Acorn carbon capture and hydrogen projects could provide critical infrastructure and help industries and homes across Scotland and the UK to decarbonise.

Using CO2 from the St Fergus gas terminal in Aberdeenshire, Acorn is expected to be storing at least 5Mt/yr of CO2 by 2030, half the CO2 emissions set out in the UK Government’s 10-point plan for a green Industrial Revolution by 2030.
