Storegga, Sval Energi partner to explore carbon storage off Norway

UK-based carbon reduction and removal company Storegga is collaborating with Sval Energi (Sval) on an agreement that will see the companies exploring the opportunities for carbon storage on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

Storegga, lead developer of the Acorn CCS (carbon capture and storage) project, will combine its CCS project experience with Sval’s subsurface knowledge of the NCS to secure the award of CO2 storage licenses on the shelf.

Stating that the company is intending to build a strong partnership with Sval, Nick Cooper, CEO, Storegga, added, “The CCS value chains tarts with secure geological storage and then building the infrastructure to provide emitters with the access to carbon sequestration.”

“As like-minded organisations, Sval and Storegga share a vision to make this happen.”
