Several teams from all over the world are set to participate in the 2007-2008 Hydrogen Student Design Contest, competing to create the most effective hydrogen and fuel cell technology design.
The contest is a unique opportunity where design can gain industry exposure and winning teams are given the chance to present their designs to over 1,500 energy industry professionals at the NHA (National Hydrogen Association) Annual Hydrogen Conference in the US.
This year’s theme is ‘Hydrogen Applications for Airports’ and focuses on South Carolina’s Columbia airport. Students are challenged to design solutions for the air, noise and groundwater pollution problems at the airport, using clean energy technologies and a budget of $3m.
The contest, which runs through late 2007 and is open to all university students, has seen its previous 2 winning entries both receive funding for the construction and implementation of their contest designs.
