Successful start-up for Yingde ASU in China

Kaifeng Air Separation Group Company Limited has recently announced that the air separation plant (ASU) it manufactured for the Yingde Chizhou project has been successfully started up.

The plant has a capacity of 60,000 Nm3/h oxygen (O2) and is the largest unit that the company has successfully put into operation ever.

The company claims that the whole plant is designed ‘with advanced ideas’ and with ease of operation.

Since the required purity of the nitrogen product is less than 1 ppm (parts-per-million) O2, and the pressure of oxygen exit the cold box is 50kPa, both upper and lower columns have to be packed columns.
