Sumitomo Cryogenics of America Inc. (SCAI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI), has acquired a leading-edge vacuum measurement instrumentation manufacturer.
California-based Ferran Technology Inc. provides vacuum measurement and control technologies to the micro-electronics manufacturing industries, as well as scientific research and industrial vacuum markets.
SCAI said that the acquisition of Ferran-Tech and its products would allow for SHI to gain more presence with products that measure and control the vacuum within the same environments and markets.
