Waste and energy innovator Sustainable Innovations, Inc. has entered the billion-dollar fuel electric vehicle industry by developing a fast-acting hydrogen (H2) purity sensor.
In conjunction with the University of Connecticut Center for Clean Energy Engineering (UConn C2E2), the sensor can identify impurities in H2 at the low levels outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and international standards.
The device is based on electrochemical principles and detects impurities at extremely low levels in H2. If a damaging contaminant is detected, the sensor will send a signal to shut off the dispenser within seconds.
