Danish gas pump specialist Svanehøj has accelerated its push towards becoming a major player in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market following the purchase of Wärtsilä Tank Control Systems.
The acquisition will help broaden Svanehøj‘s expertise in providing cargo system services for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels by applying the same skills to gas tanks on LNG ships and land-based LNG systems.
Recognising that gas is one of the biggest driving forces in the green transition, Søren Kringelholt Nielsen, CEO, Svanehøj, commented that this acquisition is an expression of the company’s desire to become a specialist in providing equipment for handling ‘all types’ of liquefied gas.
“Natural gas, biogas and not least the Power-to-X-based fuel of the future,” he added.
