Swiss heat transfer acquisition for Linde

The Linde Group has purchased Swiss plant engineering and construction company Bertrams Heatec AG and will operate the firm as a wholly-owned subsidiary, though specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Pratteln (near Basel), Switzerland, Bertrams Heatec AG is a leading specialist in the construction of systems for the safe transfer of process heat used mainly for the chemical and petrochemical industries. These systems are utilised for the manufacture of artifical fibers, synthetic resins and aluminium oxide and are used for applications in the textile and food industries, as well as solar power plants.

Dr. Aldo Belloni, member of the Executive Board of Linde AG, said, “This acquisition will enable us to open up new business opportunities in the heat transfer system segment. We also see a huge growth potential here, especially for solar power plants.”

The completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approval.
