TNSC to cut CO2 emissions with ‘green’ electricity at Amagasaki Pressure Test Station

Industrial gas specialist Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC) will harness the potential of green energy to power the Amagasaki Comprehensive Pressure Test Station in Japan.

Announced today (22nd Sept), the company installed a self-consumption solar power generation system earlier this year which will enable the use of renewable energy at the station, leading to a reduction of as much as 51 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year.

The project aligns with TNSC Group’s plans to reduce its impact on the environment, including its focus on expanding renewable energy use, improving transportation efficiency of tank trucks used to transport gas, and reducing energy intensity in gas production plants.

Marking the third such system installed by TNSC, the project at Amagasaki is the first instance in which the company has adopted the on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model.
