Total’s subsidiaries in Africa have been rolling out hygiene measures, launching community initiatives and producing hand sanitiser gels in the fight against coronavirus (Covid-19).
At the French energy company’s Mombasa blending plant in Kenya, teams have adapted their expertise and production methods to manufacture hand sanitiser.
The gel is distributed firstly to employees and then to the general public, thanks to a partnership with the Kenya Petroleum Company (KPC).
In compliance with the World Health Organisation’s recommendations, six people are working full-time to produce 8,000 litres of gel every day.
