Toyota new partner in H2ME

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has officially joined a project which aims to demonstrate that hydrogen (H2) can support Europe’s future transport demands.

Launched in 2015, Hydrogen Mobility Europe (H2ME) aims to increase the number of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) operating on Europe’s roads and will lead in the creation of a pan-European H2 fuelling station network over a period of five years. With over 300 vehicles and 29 state-of-the-art refuelling stations being deployed, the project is one of the most ambitious coordinated H2 deployment projects attempted in Europe to date. 

Toyota joined the project in September and has already begun deploying FCEVs across the continent. Last month, Toyota sent 19 Mirai (left) to Clevershuttle, an eco-conscious taxi service based in Munich, Germany, and 11 to the Metropolitan Police service in London, UK.
