UAE to ship LNG to Germany late December under new energy security pact

RWE has reached agreements with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies under a new energy security agreement signed between the UAE and Germany.

ADNOC and RWE have signed a supply agreement on the first delivery of a cargo of LNG to be supplied to ‘Elbehafen LNG’ at Brunsbüttel, near Hamburg, along with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on multi-year LNG supplies where cargoes will be delivered to Germany starting from 2023.

The announcements came as UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz signed a new Energy Security and Industry Accelerator (ESIA) Agreement that will accelerate projects of joint interest between the UAE and Germany in energy security, decarbonisation and climate action.
