DTEK is appealing for help from the international energy community after new attacks on its infrastructure today – its fourth in eight days – has left nearly a third of Ukraine’s energy system damaged.
In a statement, DTEK said it is currently in “dire need” of various electrical equipment to restore power supply, including:
- Mobile substation and complete transformer substations
- Circuit breakers, different voltage classes
- Power transformers and current transformers
- Cable products, insulators, coupling capacitors
It warns the situation may result in total destruction of the energy sector, leaving millions of people without heat and energy supply before and through the winter.
Amid the conflict, Ukraine is planning for a ‘new economy and energy industry’, where green energy should be a priority.
