VRV Asia Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italian company VRV SpA, revealed that it has been selected by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to provide strategic liquid hydrogen (H2) storage for its launch complexes.
The tank will be engineered with a patented liquid nitrogen (N2) radiation shield, which will intercept any potential heat transfer from the outer shell of the liquid H2 container.
The H2 storage tank will be designed and constructed in VRV’s Asia Pacific facility near the Indian city of Chennai, but will be supported by VRV’s technical experts back at its HQ in Italy.
