Western Australia has seen a boost to its renewable hydrogen industry, with the McGowan Government signing onto the Smart Energy Council’s Zero Carbon Certification Scheme as a founding partner.
The scheme intends to provide accelerated development and deployment of renewable energy options such as renewable hydrogen, green ammonia and green metals, such as green steel and green zinc, in Australia as well as globally.
Customers will be able to track information relating to the origin of a product and how it’s made through the Guarantee of Origin style scheme.
The scheme will also provide an embedded carbon rating, so it will be possible to track the amount of greenhouse gas emissions connected with a particular product.
