Nordmethan GmbH, a subsidiary of plant manufacturer WELTEC BIOPOWER, has purchased an existing biogas plant and has divulged a comprehensive restructuring plan to get it up and running again.
The decommissioned plant, located in Falkenhagen, Germany, was bought in January 2016. Following a €2m ($2.2m) renovation investment and a thorough overhaul, Nordmethan aims to resume operations from the plant by the end of this year.
The plant contains six combined heat and power (CHP) plants, five digesters, five post-digesters and five digestate storage units, which will produce up to 3.3MW of electricity when it goes live.
