Witt has introduced a new gas analyzer to monitor and measure wrong gas mixtures to the torch.
The Germany based gas technology specialist says contaminated welds can be caused by a number of reasons and has therefore launched PA-O2/CO2, which is portable, compact and light in weight.
The company says: It only takes a small variation in the mixture to cause porosity. Not only is the weld appearance not good, it can also endanger the structural stability of the dynamically strained welded parts.
The source of gas supply is generally not important, be it a central bulk mixing unit or a ready made mixture, however no gas supplier can afford to rule out errors in the gas supply at the users plant. That is why experts advise the use of quality control directly at the point of use.
