Woodside strikes US LNG deal with Commonwealth

Commonwealth LNG will supply Woodside with 2.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG from its proposed LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, as it looks to step-up to meet global energy demands.

The result of two binding LNG sales and purchase agreements signed on 2nd September, the supply will be carried out over a 20-year period, with first deliveries expected to start from mid-2026.

Woodside CEO Meg O’Neil has already said the agreement provides the basis for a long-term partnership with Commonwealth LNG as it looks to seek alternatives to Russian gas.
